Intro to Metal Art - 8/17/2024 - 8/18/2024 - Plympton, MA

This is an introduction to metal art weekend class hosted in Plympton, MA

August 17 - 18, 2024

Day 1: August 17 - 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. (1 hour lunch break)

Day 2: August 18 - 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. (1 hour lunch break)

Cost: $500, includes materials and PPE

This is an introduction to metal art course that leads you through how to make metal art on your own. Participants will be exposed to numerous metal working tools and work in-depth with them to get comfortable enough to make their own piece of art on Day 2.

The class is able to host a maximum of 6 students, with a minimum of 3 necessary to run the class. Woman And Machine will be in contact to let you know if the class will be able to run 24 hours prior. An option will be given to move to another art class scheduled later in the year or a refund can be issued.

What You Will Learn:

-Safety for working with metal/welders/metalworking tools

-Hand Grinders

-Wire wheels

-Hammers, chisels, punches, dollies, files

-Vice

-MIG Welders/TIG Welder

-Plasma Cutter

-How to prep metal

-Design and fabrication of art pieces

-Fit and finish of art pieces

Important:

We will provide safety gear but if you have your own gear feel free to bring it to the class!

Wear work boots, a pair of jeans or natural fiber pant that you do not mind getting dirty, and a 100% cotton shirt or other natural fiber shirt (this is all for your safety and protection, if you are not dressed appropriately you will not be able to participate in the workshop)

Woman And Machine is holding an ‘Intro to MIG Welding' welding class on Thursday evening, June 13, 2024 starting at 6 p.m. at Karen Sullivan’s home shop in Plympton.

To give our participants the most amount of ‘rod time’, we can accept a maximum of 6 students. This is a Co-Ed Class so both ladies and gentlemen are welcome to attend!

Garden Series - Metal Dragonfly - 6/4/2024 - Plympton, MA

This class is a metal art class located in Plympton, Massachusetts:

Tuesday evening, June 4th from 6 - 9 p.m. (give or take a half hour)

Cost: $125, includes materials and PPE

I will be able to take 6 students, with a minimum of 3 necessary to run the class. I will be in contact to let you know if the class will be run or not 24 hours prior, an option will be given to move to another art class given later in the year or a refund will be given if you choose not to.

For class we will be reviewing various metal working fundamentals to create a metal dragonfly. Finished student dragonflies will range in size (the student chooses how their dragonfly will look). For reference the class model piece is 7.5” long from head to tail. The student can choose to keep their dragonfly free as in the picture or it can be put on a stake to put in the ground.

Floral Series: Metal Sunflower Class - 5/21/2024 - Plympton, MA

This is an introductory metal art class hosted in Plympton, MA

Tuesday Evening - May 21, 2024

6 p.m. - 9 p.m. (give or take a half hour)

This is an introduction to metal art course that leads you through how to make a metal sunflower. There will be two options for class where you can either make a large sunflower that will hang or make a sunflower that will stake into the ground.

I will be able to take 6 students, with a minimum of 3 necessary to run the class. I will be in contact to let you know if the class will be able to run 24 hours prior. An option will be given to move to another art class scheduled later in the year or a refund can be issued.

This class is a metal art class located in Plympton, Massachusetts:

For reference the class model piece is 11” long. It is a large metal butterfly that looks great in a garden setting.

Metal Posy Bouquet: How to Create Metal Flowers - 2/11/2023- Plympton, MA

This class is a metal art class located in Plympton, Massachusetts:

Saturday, February 11th from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m./3 p.m.

*Cost: $170 or $195, includes materials and PPE

*cost difference is based on whether you would like to make 3 flowers ($170) or a rose and 2 additional flowers ($195). Making the rose is time intensive and a little more involved in making than some of the other flower options which is the cost difference. You may also be at the workshop for an additional hour if you decide to make a rose

This is an introduction to metal art weekend class hosted in Plympton, MA

October 15 - 16, 2022

Day 1: October 15 - 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. (1 hour lunch break)

Day 2: October 16 - 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. (1 hour lunch break)

This is an introduction to metal art course that leads you through how to make metal art on your own. Participants will be exposed to numerous metal working tools and work in-depth with them to get comfortable enough to make their own piece of art on Day 2.
